Ilustration Friday-Prehistoric
Ok so I may have lost the plot this week.
For me prehistoric is sort of a none word it all depends which culture you are looking at some have written or oral histories which go back further than others.
Gaphistoric would be a better word for me when I was at school history was a nightmare subject my brain has a gap were the history bit should be, never could put the right people with the right dates.
So this is how I see history.

Fellows Speed Shop
I've been Working on a logo for Fellows Speed Shop they are a company that design and fit performance engine parts and conversions for vintage Vdubs. The brief was to create something with a west coast vintage feel, the Fellows type is bespoke and will be the constant.
The plan is to create more designs which will be used on various forms of merchandising.
Really enjoyed working on this project.

Theirs no such thing as bad publicity
They say theirs no such thing as bad publicity, but I'm not so sure after reading to this article in the Birmingham Post and I quote "Carl, who describes his work as alternative and insane" Its true i have some difficulty describing my work but this is definitely not it and I do not remember ever using the word insane throughout the whole interview.
I guess all in all the article helped publicise the handmade market and it was not just about me even so I've taken a far bit of stick as a result.
As for the photo I can't complain unfortunately I really do look like that.
Handmade Birmingham Market Sat 4th Sept
Went well sold more this week than last week, really nice vibe although the comments where not so funny, this week for some reason one or two people mistook are stall for a public information booth With questions like: how do I get Moore street station and where's the nearest MacDonald's but its always nice to be of service.
What was really cool quite a few people wanted talk about there art or there experiences with art.
It was nice to encourage and to be encouraged, chat and learn.
I was really touched by a elderly gent who talked about how he loves to draw things how he sees them. As he put it we all see things in a different way, and just as he was leaving he insisted on giving us a box of sweets. How can you not enjoy a day like that.

Big day out
Has promised a bit of feedback on the market but first of all just wanted to say sorry for not giving any info out before the big day, way to busy with one thing or another anyway it went well shared a stall with Winnie check out her website here. the start was a little chaotic but some of that was down to me shooting of to the car park without my parking pass [what a div] but the market police were very helpful and allowed me to park and then go and get my pass.
There was a great atmosphere on the market both amongst the traders and public, did have some hilarious comments thou these were my favorites.
"Oh pictures I love pictures have you got any of the royal family"
" i wouldn't give ye tuppence for any of it"
Winnie's Birds drew this comment " Wow there so realistic"
This one of mine from a distraught villa fan "Could do with him in goal for the villa'
So all being well we will be back for more this Saturday so if your free come along and have good look round the stalls you wont be disappointed, BIG thanks to all who came along to support us.
See ya later.
More info here.
